Well..seeing as Anet has realeased a New Asura Mini pet and Asurians beings a playable class in GW2 i assume this article is not a hoax. However Asurians are freaken ugly and cartoonish as ever, Im sure im never making one of them. Charr Playables ftw!

something that concerns me is that the way the Asura is dressed, assuming that this is something from chapter 4, is not really representative of something to be found in a wintry area. Maybe then either the title is wrong, or the "North" doesn't necessarily mean that it is going to be a snowy game?

It's dressed like a native american villager.
Maybe it's north of Istani.

if this is going to be the last chapter of GW1 i will be incredibly disappointed if it is anything but a snowy environment...i know that's probably being selfish, but chapter 3 was very dull at times, chapter 2 goes without saying, and...judging by how grenth's footprint and the surrounding area was done, i think a wintry game would be amazing.

Wait, has anyone noticed the background is a dungeon? ALSO, the warrior is wearing Nightfall armor, meaning the next chapter might not take place directly above Tyria afterall. Maybe to the north east of elona, placing it west of Ascalon. But then how would you boat travel to it?

If it's a minipet, it's almost assuredly NOT a playable race. IMO, thats one of the misleading things Gaile mentioned. New game races, doesn't mean they are 'playable' races, or have you seen any tengu or centaur players around?

Somehow I doubt the choice of armor of the player in the screenshot has any bearing on the location of the new addition. Players, alpha and beta testers included get to pick and choose what they wear and letting them wear new armor from the new expansion would probably give away even more than ANet wants to at this point, as ANets armors have always had some relation to the cultural themes in the additions. We don't even know for certain if the name given is correct.

I said this in the pet thread and I'll say it again here, the background and character model are insignificant. The background looks like reused concept art from sorrow's furnace(I don't feel like thumbing through my artbook to check..), not that that's a bad thing. And the warrior is just a random character model they stuck in for size reference, his presence doesn't mean it will have anything to do with Elona. I'm not saying any of that is bad, but don't try to assume connections with the fourth campaign when most likely they have no such deeper significance.

My guess would be that confirming any part of the information out right would invalidate the exclusivity of the info going into the Magazines. Though I don't know about them being a playable race.

What IS significant, however, is what the minipet is wearing...and if it correlates to CH4 instead of GW2, I am worried...it has a native American sort of feel to it, and although I admittedly don't know much about the native Americans, I can't picture a native-American based environment to be any better or more exciting than the chapter 3 environment (I understand it wouldn't be desert, but still probably for the most part dull)

The environment could be as varied as Prophecies.
Giant snowy peaks, huge plains, deserts, swamp, rolling hills, ect.

That's true, the art team is known for recycling environment textures and models over and over.

Hell, when you start to see the same plant all through 3 chapters of space then you start to wonder where the original work for a zone went.

Show me a game where they don't recycle plants, trees, anything that's abundant in an environment. And then show me a game where it doesnt lag to hell if they've managed to create completely different individual plants in a vast forest.

From someone who's read the "the Inquirer" for tech non-gaming news. They do have a bad habit of firing stories along lines of what gale indicated, some truth, some misinformation, and other stuff just plain wrong.

If you look at tech forums and the topic of the Inquirier comes up... don't be holding your breath, you will be turning blue. There right on once in a blue moon with "exclusive" info like this.

Now the mini-pet is cool and I suspect a quick taste of chapter 4.
